About the Event

In the 2020 Charles Holden Lecture, Dr Justin Bengry examines the histories of books drawn from the vast and important LGBTQ collections of Jonathan Cutbill (resident of Shrewsbury until his death in 2019). Jonathan curated an extraordinary library at his home in Castlefields which was donated to Senate House Library. In this lecture, Justin tells the stories behind some dangerous queer books.
