At the start of the pandemic in the UK in February 2020, Peter Scott-Presland, of ‘Homopromos’ had been working on a project called 'Gay Century'; it was to be introduced at the Academic Conference of the UK's LGBT History Festival in March in Belfast. The project, an operatic work in 17 Acts reflect his personal take on key LGBTQ+ events in British history during the twentieth century.

The conference was cancelled as Covid's presence became evident. However, not allowing that to frustrate his work, Peter enabled the work to be performed live via Zoom, weekly over nine weeks, starting on April 28th, acted without the music. These were a great success and very affirming for his audience during the darkest days of 'lockdown'.

In July 2020, he put 8 of the Zoom recordings on to YouTube. Notwithstanding the quality of the zoom recordings, the acting comes over as being of a very high standard.

Hopefully, you may find them a great way of getting into LGBTQ+ history in twentieth century Britain.
